Children’s film Academy

Hullo Everyone! We are the students of the Thirumangalam Upper Primary School, Engandyur, Kerala. We are a mixed group from Classes Fifth to Seventh. We are really excited to join students from all over the world , learning about making films ! We saw some short films and then the theme of the workshop was introduced to us. It was Sensations ! The sense of sight, touch, smell, hearing and of course, taste. We saw the film clip of a boy licking fresh tamarind in the classroom and students’and teacher’s mouths watering ! Then we saw a film clip in which a storm hits a village. The storm, the dust, the leaves, the doors banging and windows rattling , the sound and what we saw on screen came together , we could feel the force of the wind ! These were clips from our favourite Malayalam films, so we enjoyed them a lot. We saw some short films and some clips from foreign films too.
We had great fun going outdoors for our film practicals. We were divided into two groups of six students each. All the twelve of us had to call out numbers 1 and 2 and then all the ones became one group and the twos became the second group. We were introduced to basic handling of camera.
